Need snack ideas

On Sunday I'm having his family come over for cake and coffee for DH's bday (which is next Thursday). I don't want to do just cake so give me ideas on what else I can do. I was thinking a fruit platter also, but else? I don't have time to bake, so it needs to be something easy I can throw together or just pick up at the store for cheap. And no cookies!

I was thinking something like that but I don't know if that would be too much with the cake?

Re: Need snack ideas

Heath Bar Dip

1 8oz cream cheese
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
3/4 cup of brown sugar
1 bag of heath bar bites
Crush the bites up or use 3 full size bars if you can't find the bites. Mix everything together and serve with apples slices. You can use some lemon juice to keep the apple from browning.

someone just sent this to me

I'm not sure. I think people would have a little bit of everything. I wouldn't go crazy, just get a small assortment. I also have a dessert pumpkin dip recipe if you're interested, linda's post reminded me that it exists.

Re: Need snack ideas

Ok here it is, I serve it with graham crackers and apple wedges:

Pumpkin Dip

Ingredients

-1 (16 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
-1 (5 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
-1 (15 ounce) can solid pack pumpkin
-1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

Directions
-In a large bowl, mix together instant vanilla pudding mix, pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice. Fold in the thawed frozen whipped topping. Chill in the refrigerator until serving.

*If you use libby's easy canned pumpkin it comes with the seasoning already in it and you do not need the pumpkin pie spice*

I brought it to a dip party where the dips were being judged and I won. I also threatened a few people but I don't think it swayed the voting too much.
