Re: central islip or bay shore

huntington and west babylon are better then CI and Bayshore (depends on where though) some areas of Bayshore are super nice and some people who have a bayshore zip go to Islip high school which is a good. I really do not know any good areas of CI, most of my friends who did live there had to leave because of crime.

Re: central islip or bay shore

We live in Huntington and most of the area is really nice. DH and I are looking for houses here. He has a 'rule'.......no numbered streets. In general, most of the #'d streets in Huntington are no-so-nice (20 people living in one house, etc).

I'd say that Bayshore is better than C.I. but Huntington and W. Babylon are better than both areas.

HTH!

Re: central islip or bay shore

Hey... I know this is the Newlywed board but wanted to help out... I rent a townhouse in Bay Shore, on the border of Islip (Bay Shore zip, Islip school district, not that it matters because Bay Shore SD happens to be very good) In any case, I know the area really well (have lived there for about 8 years) and know all of the complexes that you mentioned. Not sure what your price range is but our townhouse development is only about 3 years old and gorgeous! It's three levels, first level is our garage and nice size storage space, second level is kitchen, dining room, living room, laundry room and a 1/2 bath, third level is 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. As I said, they are new so they are in great condition, gated community, only 16 units. If you want more info or info on the area feel free to FM me :) Good luck!
