Need Ideas for Dinner Party....

Hey Ladies! I'm having some friends over this weekend for a last minute dinner party. Any ideas/recipes for a good meal to cook for anywhere from 4-7 people?

Re: Need Ideas for Dinner Party....

Rachel Ray has a great recipe for paella that i LOVE! i usually just do it with sausage, chicken & shrimp(but u can do it with whatever u want!) & then do everything else the same.. u can just make a HUGE pot of it & then get some crusty bread & lemon wedges either that or maybe u can do a big pot of sauce - make baked ziti(nice & easy & everyone likes it) with a big salad & some garlic bread...or maybe spaghetti & meatballs?

I know! Everyone loves it. We make extra sauce to pour on top to make it extra 'saucy!' I like the sausage idea.

i just get the sweet italian sausage right in the grocery store..i squeeze it from the shell & fry it up(while chopping) right with the onion (and we ALWAYS grate some fresh parm for topping ) so yummy! try it some time!

Re: Need Ideas for Dinner Party....

Do you have a slow cooker?

I love using the slow cooker when I'm having people over - that way I'm not running around stressing out over dinner right before they get there!

I have like a million pot roast recipes for the slow cooker - and you can throw potatoes and veggies in there too - for a complete meal! I'd make some salad and biscuits and be done with it

Re: Need Ideas for Dinner Party....

on my favorite food blog joythebaker.com/blog she hosted a few parties and has some really good recipes.

I made her empanadas, those are party friendly and who doesn't like empanadas??

I have also been looking for some great dinner party menus, and I would check out marthastewart.com. :) GL!
