Easy Asian string bean recipe
Last night I made an Asian-themed dinner and found a really easy and OMG so yummy string bean recipe.I used a pound of frozen string beans for Dh and I and we had more than enough with some left over. The recipe called for fresh beans, but trust me, these frozen were just as good!
Bring 1/2 cup of water with NO seasoning to a boil...drop in 1 lb. frozen string beans. Boil until you are happy with the texture (some like them softer than others...I am a fan of al dente with some crunch).
Strain the beans and leave them in the strainer while you put a little less than a tablespoon of sesame oil in the pan with some asian sesame seeds....be careful, they are tiny and brown super-fast. I had the oil and seeds on for about a minute and a half, stirring the whole time. Then I added the beans and coated them. Then I added low sodium soy sauce (however much you like) and toss....voila! So freakin' good!

Are Asian sesame seeds different than regular ones? Just curious! That sounds SO delish! I am a HUGE fan of sesame oil - I cook with it a LOT and love the flavor! Thanks for sharing!

I don't see why not. I am sure it would be good with most veggies actually.

I flipping love asparagus. I love when you can take a good recipe, and switch up some things in it.

how many sesame seeds did you use? Did you just use a sprinkle, or like 2 tablespoons?
