Puerto Vallarta?

Has anyone been to Puerto Vallarta? I am looking to go on a vacation next December for about 4-5 nights and was looking at Puerto Vallarta as a possible destination, something different.... would love to hear your reviews if you've been there! thanks!

Re: Puerto Vallarta?

We went there for our honeymoon, stayed at the Dreams resort and LOVED it!

Puerto Vallarta is a bit more low key than Cancun, so we thought it'd be perfect for a relaxing honeymoon. The downtown area is very nice...there's a boardwalk-type area, it's very clean & very safe (there were police all over the place for tourists' protection).

There are also a lot of acivities and excursions to go on. We took the City Tour (included lunch at an awesome little place and a tour of a tequila distillery), went on a sailboat to go snorkling at Marietas Islands (and also saw some whales along the way), and went to the Rhythms of the Night (a nice show and candle-light dinner on the beach at a remote island). We wanted to do the zip-line through the jungle, but we wanted a day of relaxation.

We also loved our stay at Dreams, an all-inclusive resort...the food was great, our room was amazing (Junior suite with jacuzzi in the Preferred Tower...definitely get a room in the Preferred Tower!), the beach and pools were awesome, alcoholic drinks were included as was everything in the mini-fridge (beer, sodas, water, juice), room service was also included and prompt, the staff was friendly and accomodating, it was very well maintained...can you tell we loved it there?

Best of all, Delta has a non-stop flight from JFK to Puerto Vallarta, so we left at ~8am and arrived ~1pm local time, so we had time to enjoy the beach and pools.

Good luck!!
