Do you need to hand your marriage liscene into the Church before your RD??

I got a voicemail from the Church the other day and I couldn't tell if they said I had to bring it to the RD or if I needed to bring it to the Church before hand??

yeah bring it just in case. They didnt tell me and i thought i had to bring it the day of the wedding. When i got there, my mom had to go back to get it so we can have the license there to sign by the time we finished the rehearsal. I felt horrible that my mom had to drive back home to get it and come back quickly

We brought ours to the Rehershal -- the priest requested it that way so we didn't have to worry about it the day of. If you don't have it you can do it the day of but it is one more thing to remember that day.

thank you soooo much ladies!!!! I knew I had to have it for the rehearsal i just dont get if the woman said to drop it off before hand so maybe i will just call them.

obviously i cant get mine until the mondya before the wedding so it wont really matter if i drop it off then since our RD is thurs haha

oh wow. I'm glad this topic was brought up. My church never told me, so I just assumed we bring it the morning of.

DH and I signed it the day off. My priest came to see me outside for me to sign it...he is so sweet!

We needed to bring that before the rehersal..but we were late with everything! Some churches are different and want it at the rehersal. Check with your church see what they tell you!

I got married at St. Jos in Babylon!! You too??? We dropped off the Marriage Certificate a month before the wedding..actually it was 2 weeks before...if we are the same church!

We weren't able to get our license before our rehearsal so we brought it on the day of our wedding.

Oh thank you so much!! SO I did hear it right haha.

Who married you? Deacon Geoff is marrying us, he is really sweet. Did you have to wait in that little waiting room on the side of the church (you know where the parents bring their kids when they are crying during mass) lol??
