So it finally happend - RSVP related UPDATED AGAIN
Someone RSVP'd for 3 people when it was only sent to Mr. & Mrs. XYZ.I'm going to email this person the following, plesae let me know what you think:
Hello M,
I was so happy to recieve your RSVP and delighted that you want to join me and FH in celebrating our wedding.
I noticed that you included 3 in the number attending, however we only reserved two spots for you and your husband. Because on both sides we had to include so many people on our invitation list we're limited to who is invited. Only the number of people listed on the mailed invitation are invited. Couples with children were not invited with their children because of how big our list is. This includes couples coming in from out-of-town. Honestly, nobody except immediate family (only brothers and sisters) are invited with children.
I hope you and your husband can make it, but I'm sorry you can't bring anyone else. Please let me know if I should change you're response to two.
What do you think ladies?

Agreed, they don't need to know about the exceptions since they aren't one of them

Thank you ladies!I hate having to strictly abide by this...but if we invited everyone with their children we'd need a much larger space and a lot more money.

I love that you sent that e-mail. I think it was perfectly worded! You said what you needed to say without coming across as nasty. I think it's ridiculous when couples just allow their guests to walk all over them and add whoever they want to the RSVP.
I kind of assume that most people just add a number to their rsvp rather than calling to ASK because they assume you won't respond to a WRITTEN reply. If anything, they'll just be embarrassed for thinking they could slide that past you.
Good job. Let us know how it goes. I'm curious what her response will be. I would assume if she's a normal person, it'll just be a quick apology for 'not realizing' or whatever. If she's a psycho, however, then maybe she'd take back the 2. But then that's their loss, not yours. So either way, you're fine

Re: So it finally happend - RSVP related
sounds good to me! Maybe add in something along the lines of 'while we would love to include children in the celebration, our hall has a limit to the number of guests allwed.' This way it sort of sounds like there isn't anymore room. Good for you for not letting people get away with this!
