For those of you who skipped a videographer...
Sorry, jumping on the 08 board! For those of you who skipped having a videographer, do you regret it? I don't see myself ever watching a wedding video but everyone tells me I'm going to regret it if I don't.
I'd love to spend the money that i'm saving here on upgrading my photographer (IE getting Angelica Glass) but I'm trying to make sure that I won't be totally upset that I don't have a video to watch.
What do you think? For those of you reading this that HAD a videographer, do you watch your video?

Re: For those of you who skipped a videographer...
my brother had a videographer and watched his wedding video once, and never again. I personally think it's a waste if you're on a budget.

Re: For those of you who skipped a videographer...
Nope, not one bit. Our photographer provided the option for a DVD slideshow of pictures set to music and this we watch all the time. I can't see myself sitting down to watch an actual video.

I wasnt planning on it, but decided at the last minute to get one. I am SOOOO glad I did...the whole day went by so quickly, and I was glad to have the video to see things I missed or dont remember.

Re: For those of you who skipped a videographer...
get the video! my wedding was 2 months ago and i definitely dont remember everything that happend that night. your not going to watch the video over and over, but it'll be nice to break it out every now and then for nostalgics stake. If your worried about the $$ many videographers dont require payment in full until you pick up your video, so thats also something to think about.

Re: For those of you who skipped a videographer...
We didn't do video and we don't regret it. We both like photos better so that was the deciding factor for me. Also, I felt like the day went by so slow-maybe because I tried to listen to everyone telling me to take it all in. So I know there is some stuff I missed but I honestly don't feel like it was a blur so I am completely happy with my decision.

we skipped the videographer, Dh's BIL taped the ceremony for us. We saved money by not having one and got a photobooth instead

I've watched my video a few times already, and we've only been married 4 months. Its still the raw footage, we haven't received the edited version yet, but we love having the video! I couldn't imagine not having it!

same here. our wedding was 10 days ago..and even when i look at pictures i'm like wait.. so and so was dancing...and this person was doing this?? The day goes by so fast and it is a blur.. it's almost like u wish u could have been a guest..and i think u get to see that perspective a bit more in video. I can't wait to get the video to see the bridal party walk down the aisle (since you don't get to see it really) ..especially my ring bearer and flower girl, see my expressions when my and DH had our first dance.. see everyone entering the reception. I think we'll watch it often..and even if we don't ..it'll be nice to be able to pull it out on our 5, 10, or even 20 yr anniversary and say wow..look at us!!!!!!!!!

Re: For those of you who skipped a videographer...
We did not have a videographer, it wasn't something we wanted. We would have watched the video once or twice and than it would have gone on the rack with our other unwatched DVDS. I have amazing photos which tell the story of our day nicely. I do not regret not having one and doubt that I ever will.

Re: For those of you who skipped a videographer...
Our photographer missed a couple key things- so for us- we are really looking forward to seeing the video because it will fill the gaps on the day- everything went so fast I dont even remember most of it to be honest. We will also show our kids someday

It has been only 4 months and I do not. Most people who have it say they are so happy they have it and people who did not I feel say they dont miss it. JMO

Re: For those of you who skipped a videographer...
not one bit!! i think its a total waste of $$ & it would have been one more person jumping in front of your face the whole dayif you are on the fence about it - why not ask a family member (someone like a younger cousin) to video tape it for you? just an idea
good luck with your decision... but i did not regret it in the least!!!!
