Girls getting married in church

Is your parish strict about the kind of music that will be played at the wedding? I want to walk down to something like All I Ask Of You from the phantom of the opera. My mom said they might not let me. Has anyone had this problem with their church?

I won't be able to use music like that either, but it's a Greek Orthodox church, so it's not just the parish, it's the blanket rule.

I don't get it, they allow the photos to be hanging from the rafters, but I can't have Pachabel in D.

I don't think our church lets us choose the music, not that I mind bc I want the traditional stuff anyway, our priest said the organist plays the usual wedding mass music.

Awww I'm sorry they won't allow Pachabel. It's a great song and I really wanted my bp to walk down to that.

They usually have a list of what songs the diocese approves of. We had to go to a musical showcase so we could select our music but it had to be of what they played not something you heard elsewhere.

My church is this way too (Roman Catholic). I really wanted to walk down the aisle to Enya's 'Siver Inches' but it's not liturgical according to the church.
