Just blocked out rooms

As some of you may know I was having so much trouble with blocking rooms because of the damn US Open and the Merchant Marine graduation. I wound up blocking rooms at the Ramada Inn in Bayside, it's not the nicest but the price was really good and they are only 5 miles from Leonard's. I'm just grateful that I found a hotel that would block out rooms for me!

Congrats!!! I blocked my rooms there as well...It isn't the nicest but it would only be for a night. It was the most affordable option in the area. We are staying at the Inn in Great Neck.

I think that's what we are going to do because of the US Open. I called the Garden City Hotel and The Andrew and they are only booking for a minimum of 5 days due to the US Open. The Inn will book us but we have to pay for it upfront so I just want to be sure before we pay up.

Does it cost money to block out rooms??? Like in order for me to block out rooms for my wedding, do I need to put down like a down payment or something?

Some place will make you guarantee a certain percentage of rooms and if they aren't booked by a certain point you will be responsible for the unbooked rooms. The ramada didn't have this, if the rooms are not booked by at least one month prior to my wedding they will release the rooms. I didn't have to give money or credit card information.
