So mad at a coworker

So at lunch today we were talking about my wedding and plans and some how my shower came up. I said well it's not going to be a surprise since I went with my mom to book it. So everyone starts saying why would you want to know, why did you do that. So I told them mom said she needed help (she's not really a planner) and she wanted to make sure everything would turn out how I wanted it and that it would be at a place that I liked. So my coworker said to me well that's a big control issue right there. OMG are you kidding me, how is that a control issue if my mom wanted me to be involved? I am so mad about this.

people sometimes r just rude and would rather say well this is what i would do rather than see it any other way..sorry u had to deal with that and its not control issues by any measure thats just dumb..hth

Some people need to learn how to keep their opinions to themselves. How rude of her! I don't think its a control issue at all. If your mom wanted help and you didn't mind helping and knowing then whats the issue? Don't let this girl ruin your day, just ignore her. Personally I think I am going to help my mom too... I know how much work it is and how much time she doesnt have!

She's probably just jealous. I guarantee that even if you did not have a hand in planning it, you probably would have caught wind of some of the plans anyway. It's better to know you'll have the party exactly as you've envisioned it! Just enjoy it and ignore you're jealous co-workers!

Ignore her. I planned my own shower because my mom was so overwhelmed and I had no bridesmaids or sisters, so me and my mom did it all. No biggie!

She was married and her daughter is married so she probably figures since she did her daughters shower that's the way it should be.
