Dress Question
Has anyone tried to negotiate the price of their wedding dress? It seems that everyone negotiates with all the vendors (even though the dress isn't a vendor) so I figured why not try to negotiate the dress. Has anyone tried this? Did it work?

Re: Dress Question
I think to a certain extent you can, and it does work! They want your business just like anyone else, and i think they often have room to work with the numbers. I suppose it depends on the place. Kleinfeld's worked with me!

Re: Dress Question
I totally negotiated. If you know the style name & designer of your dress you should absolutely price it out at more than 1 place. You can even google the dress name/style number and see how low people got their gowns for.
Also, catching a trunk show is always a great idea b/c its a guranteed 15 percent off and then some (I got my veil and sash for free, plus 15% off my gown b/c Wedding Salon wanted to beat Kleinfelds price and offer).
I think its near impossible to get more than 20% off your gown price. So see what they can do abot accessories, alterations, bustles, etc.

Re: Dress Question
You should try to negotiate, tell them you are paying cash (if you can) that works wonders... and tell them you will put a deposit right then and there if they will give you a break ( or at least throw in alterations cause they add up). bridal reflections worked with me. you never know unless you try.FYI RK Bridal I hear has the best prices on wedding gowns and BM dresses, see if they carry your dress and use them as a bargaining tool! Good Luck :)

Re: Dress Question
I sorta did... LOL> My dress was one rate, ok, that's fine. But I wanted to add small sleeves draping off the shoulders to cover up my tattoo... they wanted to charge me 200 for these little 2 inch sleeves!
So, I was able to make a deal with them...now the seamstress will be measuring me give me the layout for them, then I am making them myself.
200 saved for me! lol
