DAVID'S BRIDAL!!!!!!! sorry...long rant....
OMG! WHAT A WASTE OF TIME, GAS, and my LIFE!I went for my 'final fitting' last night. I get there 15 minutes early, and there were already other girls there that were unhappy. I knew this was not going to be good. So the man there asks my name, and he goes into the back, I thought to get my dress. Two seconds later he is back asks me to come with him. I see the train of my dress hanging out of the bag onto the floor, and immediatley think...OH NO...the F'D it up. He proceeds to tell me that the pin had fallen out of the bustle, and without me, they couldn't have stitched it back. He tells me I will have to come back 'tomorrow'. So I respond 'NO, I'm here now, you'll fix it now.' To which he says ok. I go to try it on, and as I am pulling it over my head, I feel thickness in the inner lining of the skirt. THEY STILL HAD THE HEM PINNED FROM BACK IN JULY! So I go out of the room ( after I took pics of it), and picked up the outer skirt to show him the pins, and I ask 'What is this?'. ( by now the room is full of women, and I don't care anymore, plus I am pmsing...haha
) He says 'Yeah, that's what I told you about. I said 'NO...you said BUSTLE...THIS IS A HEM....'...and he just says 'sorry'...So I said 'You had two months to do this, and you haven't done ****.' he tried to say something about leaving it there, and I said 'NO...you will reimburse me for the alterations we paid for that you didn't do, and if you deny me the $$$ I will see your a$$ in court!'..I changed, and while I was changing FMIL was on the phone with her seamtress.
I go out to talk to the manager, and he was already out there, and when I came out he was like 'That's her...that's the one'. Long story short, they refunded our $$$ and I took the dress with me.
It's now being altered by a REAL SEAMSTRESS for WAY LESS than David's. OH and when I got to the other seamstress, she found the 'lost pin' in the bustle.....

Re: DAVID'S BRIDAL!!!!!!! sorry...long rant....
Sorry to here this. This is my issue with them too! I went to the one in Westbury and I would only say buy your dress there and take it some place else to get it fitted. They were rude and they didn't speak English so every time I called I got in a fight with them so I finally went to the store (I live upstate so I didn't want to have to make extra trips before the wedding) and fought with them inperson. They are horrible! Sorry this happened!

What I don't get is IF the pin fell out....why didn't they just CALL and say...'really sorry'..but we f'd up and can you come back in to try it on? I would have gone back with no problem. But don't LIE about it!!!!!!!!!!

My sister got her alterations done there for her wedding - and it was a MESS. Her hem was visibly crooked - like not even a straight line crooked - it was almost curvy it was bad. She went CRAZY on them and they fixed it - but it was a mess, thank goodness she had gone early enough that she had time to get it fixed.Atleast now you will get it properly altered!!
They need to get some qualified people in there

Was this the one in Lake Grove??? I had the same issues with them! Good for you standing up for them and getting your money back! I am writing them a nasty letter (which I still need to do) and sending it to their corporate office. That place is seriously a joke!

Re: DAVID'S BRIDAL!!!!!!! sorry...long rant....
i had the same problems! There was hanging beading and such and i made them fix it..free of charge. I basically told them that it was a mess when it came in and won't take it until it's the way it should be...this went on for motnhs of having to go back. I'm getting my bustle done throuhg a different seamstress.

Re: DAVID'S BRIDAL!!!!!!! sorry...long rant....
Jen!! I am so proud of you for demanding your money back!! I can't even believe they were totally screwing with you like that!!! I wonder why they are sooooo bad with alterations. You'd think a popular business like this would hire descent people. I just don't get it.I'm glad you found somebody else better. You definitely still have time to fix this problem. It's just a shame you had to waste all this time though. Jeez. I'm glad you're warning everybody though. Nobody should ever take their dresses there to be altered. In fact, I still gotta cancel MY appt. They made me set a date when I ordered the dress even though I kept saying no to their alterations. Blah. I get pressured into things. But I alway knew I'd just call and cancel (easier done on the phone for me than in person. lol). So I'm definitely getting on top of that NOW
