what was your shower like?

What did you girls do at your shower? I really didn't want one, but my mother insisted. It will be mostly family - actually only one friend and BM will be there. Did you all have games? I am just dreading it and I think it will be so boring and painful for all attending....any suggestions to give my MOH (sister) to spice things up?

you can make it fun instead of just sitting there eating and opening gifts.

For my shower we did games

also for my friends shower in july we also did a bunch of games. I was a bm and we did a lingerie line for her, had a different type of lingerie for everyday of the week, each bm had to pick a certain colored lingerie.

The matron of honor made booklets and each guest got one. It was a couple of pages, the front there was a pic of the bride and groom. There were also games in there. There was 'whats in your purse' there was a whole list of things that could be in your purse and for each thing you did have you put a checkmark next to and each item had a certain amount of points, the person with the most points won. We also did 'who knows the couple best' there were about 20 questions regarding their relationship and we went over the answers but we collected the sheets first hahaha, the person who scored highest won. We also did the price is right game, it gave instructions in the booklet but we had a basket of baking goodies and other supermarket items, the guests had to go to the table and guess how much everything in there cost, the person who guessed the closest won a prize.

We also did toilet paper bride. Each table was given 3 rolls of toilet paper and they had to pick 1 person from each table to be the bride and everyone else had to make a wedding dress for her from the toilet paper. after they were done they did a little catwalk haha and the bride had to pick a winner and they also won a prize.

Also another game is 'how well you know your FH' somebody will give your fh a bunch of questions from ahead of time and he will answer them. Then at the shower they will ask you the questions to see how well you know him, for each answer you get wrong they stick a big piece of gum in your mouth.


also while you open gifts you can do bridal bingo or do the timer which basically you set a timer for every 10 or 15 mins or whatever you want and when it goes off, the persons gift you are opening at the time gets a prize.

or you can just do a completely different type of shower and make it unique. Do more of a cocktail type party, do a spa party. Theres different themes you can do. Have a moroccan themed shower and maybe have a belly dancer come teach you moves

At my shower we had games. Each person was given a sheet to unscramble wedding related words and another sheet with questions about me that guests had to get right. Another game was when people were eating I had to answer questions about FH (the bubblegum game). For each answer I got wrong I had to put a piece of gum in my mouth. Out of 15 questions, I got 6 wrong I looked like a chipmunk! I don't remember if they did bingo, but that's a popular game to play while you're opening gifts.

i didn't want one at first either, but my MOH & MOH (matron & maid) threw me one and it was awesome! they made it into a wine tasting shower party, which i loved. asked everyone to bring bottles of my fav wines which created a great collection. they had games where people had to answer questions about me & who ever knew me the most got a prize. then a wine tasting game - guess the right wine , win a prize. it was fun!

im no looking forward to mine either but im a firm believer that your outlook and approach to anything effect the outcome. go in with no expectations and you cant be disappointed.

I opened presents for 3 hours!! It went really fast becausae there are so many gifts and that's really all you do! I had a lot of people at my shower,,, that might be why
