Church to Hall times

How many Hours before my hall should I book my church. I want to take pics in between but don't want to miss my cocktail hour. My RH most likely won't be more than 1/2 from the church and the place I would take my pics is right in the middle.

Re: Church to Hall times

depends on how long ur ceremony is going to be...are u having a full mass? i'd figure that out & then talk with the photographer to get a guesstimate on how long ur pics will take

Re: Church to Hall times

Our ceremony is at 11 am ... our CH hour starts at 1... so what we had to do was a ceremony at Church instead of a full mass... and we are going right to the RH to take our pictures.. we don't want to miss our CH either !

Re: Church to Hall times

we are doing just the ceremony and no mass at 3:30 and then we have cocktail hour scheduled for 6:00...that gives at least a hour and a half to take pictures...

Re: Church to Hall times

Our church in Brooklyn is at 2pm and our cocktail hour at Fox Hollow is at 7pm. Its about an hour drive too.

FMIL is hosting a little get-together at her house (2 blks from the church) for the downtown

Re: Church to Hall times

If it's going to be about half an hour, I'd say an hour to an hour and a half tops. Going any longer than that will leave your guests wondering what to do with their time and being bored (I've had a lot of people complain about that to me).

Re: Church to Hall times

Our hall is about 25 minutes away from church. Our ceremony starts at 1 and takes roughly 30 minutes. Our CH starts at 4 but we are planning to get there around 4:30. Our shuttle busses will be taking us from the church and dropping us off at our photo location, then heading to takes guests a short drive from our hotel to the hall.

Re: Church to Hall times

If you are using a Catholic church I don't think you can book them. Ones I've seen have specific times on the different days when they do weddings - - at least on Sat and Sun so they allow enough time for thier masses. Now, if your date is Friday or other weekday I guess you can try to book . . but from what I've heard about churches, I wouldn't count on it. they seem to like to tell you, not the other way around.
