NW Board-Post...Disturbing

When the boards are slow, I venture off to NW land and read what's going on over there. I read a post about a LIW'ers friend that got divorced after 3 months of marriage!!!! This freaked me out!! The post continued on about what issues constitute divorce & how problems now don't go away. Just scared me a bit!

i read that too...it is scary...its so true when they say ppl get so caught up on preparing a wedding and spending all this time on it but not for the actual marriage. Some people are just not meant to be.

At the same time, I think there are people that are meant to be but just don't work at it. Everyone is so quick to throw in the towel - I don't get it.

If I've learned anything in life, it's that anything that's worth having, doesn't come easy - emotionally or materialistic.

amen! I think for others somethings there are valid reasons for divorce however FH and I have discussed it (at length) and for us, minus the presence of (a) abuse or (b) continuous infidelity, its never to be mentioned!

We come from families where it's also never happened. So i think we feel if they can get thru the hard times and stick it out, who are we to not do the same. The D-word is used too often.

You're 1000% right... plus, ive found the easy road is no where near as rewarding as the tougher one.

I was sad reading it knowing there is a divorce going on in my family right now.. and I am foreseeing another.
It is sad.

My parents divorced after 30 years of marriage....imagine that! But at least they tried for 30 years!
