pap question. . .TMI sorry

got a pap yesterday, it didnt hurt but i am still bleeding

Has this happened to anyone??? It never happened to me before.

Hmm..no, never happened to me. Sure its not ur period? If not, I would call the Dr. and see if its normal... did you start bleeding right after the pap was done?

It has never happened to me, but from what I know it's common. Your lining got scratched. I say call your doctor tomorrow to give the details (when it's started, if it's heavy, etc.)

This happened to me. The lining got scratched, more than normal. I called my doc after about 36 hours. She said if it got worse then to call her back otherwise not to worry. It stopped...of course...shortly after I called her.

thanks everyone! this is so odd bc it was my LEAST painful exam ever, i didnt even realize what was happening until it was over but then i started bleeding, i will call them when they open!

this happened to me the last time i got a pap.... my gyno said it would happen tho b/c they started using a new device that caused small amount of bleeding... i only think i bled for the rest of that day - by the next day i wasnt bleeding anymore

nope! i have been going every year since I turned 18, sometimes twice a year!

this happens to my friend on occasion- and its been as heavy as AF- she called the doctor and they said as long as it didnt last long (more than 1-2 days) not to worry, if it did last longer than that they said they would have her come back in.. but definately call your doctor- will put your mind at ease too

Thanks - I cant call from here, no privacy but I will call from the way home.

I shouldn't have told my mom, she is BUGGING out and wants me to switch doctors LOL she called her a butcher!

I've spotted for a day or too. Is it spotting or is it heavy?

spotting is normal. A PAP irritates your cervix which can result in spotting.

I've had about 15 of them in my life, and it's happened once. Only for a day. They scrape off some of your cervix; bleeding can happen! Call your doc if you want professional (rather than 'LIW'!) reassurance, but please don't stress out.
