No way he totally touched it first, besides it's not even a judgment call it's a sensor that indicates the winner. I think it was poor sportsmanship for the other guy to challenge it.

challenges happen in sports all the time. why do you think so many managers and coaches of baseball games get ejected? I would've contested it too. It was too close to call, especially when everyone in the water cube (including Phelps' family) thought he got Silver.

yeah they said something about a sensor but it was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too close for comfort.

As a former competitive swimmer, I know all too well about races that end like that, but that was just mind boggling. As much as I was praying for him to create history, I thought he got silver. But...the clock never lies!!!

wow. that picture says it all!! i was at the movies last night and missed the race..but i saw the replay of it and nbc's interview w/ michael & mark spitz....gotta love the human fish

Exactly... a gift it was. It was nice that he acknowledged it that way. We deserved a gift after our women gymnastics kept getting TOTALLY screwed the night before...
