Rings w/Poll!

Hi Ladies,

What are your thoughts on the 'gap' between my engagement ring and the wedding ring?

Sorry, trying to upload the picture, it's in my album for now....

Thanks!!!

Re: Rings

Mine has the same gap....I think it looks fine. I think its pretty hard to find something that doesnt have at least somewhat of a gap unless you actually buy it as a set.

Re: Rings

it looks fine the way that it is, as long as you like it...
are you going to have them soldered together. mine had a gap before i had it done and now they sit perfectly together. they just cut into one of the prongs a little bit to make my band sit flush with the solitaire.

Hmm, that might be an option.

I don't mind the gap as much as I thought I would but I think I'd prefer the rings to be flush, but it's proven very hard to find.

Re: Rings w/Poll!

I'm actually going to wear my Ering on the right hand...But for you I think it looks fine. If it bothers you that much, maybe consider buying an identical wedding ring & place it on the opposite side to make it symmetrical.

Re: Rings w/Poll!

They look fine together but how do they feel? I have a ring with a low placed diamond, causing a curve, and I've been searching like mad for a wedding band that 'fits' against it. Many straight rings look fine but I don't like the feel of the ring seesawing back and forth. I'm looking to go custom after getting really frustrated with the curved selection out there. We'll be wearing these rings our whole lives so make sure you're completely happy!

Customizing the curve is an option, that's what we had to do for mine cuz I have OCD when it comes to things like that. It had to be flush! They took my e-ring for 2 weeks and built the wedding band around it (I have it in my album).
The price wasn't much more expensive either, and I chose to have the diamonds go around just the outside half to lower the price.

Re: Rings w/Poll!

To me it looks like it should be fused. The gap is a bit distracting to me.

Re: Rings w/Poll!

I think having a gap between the two is fine. That way you can see that they are two separate rings

Re: Rings w/Poll!

I don't like the gap in mine, it's not comfortable. I have short fingers and a wider band though. I wear my e-ring on the right because of it, even though we got the e-ring after we got the band so that they'd fit. Think long and hard about it. If you are even a tiny bit unsure, get a band that fits.

I agree and I asked a friend of mine who has this situation and she says she doesn't even notice it anymore

It definitely looks fine, but its ultimately up to what you like and feel comfortable with.

Re: Rings w/Poll!

Thank you everybody for your input. It's been very helpful! I've been wearing it around the house (I'm sure that's bad luck or something ) and decided that it doesn't bother me and they actually look very nice together.

The second part of the situation, which I did not want to reveal because I wanted unbiased thoughts is that I was able to get this wedding band at a substantial discount thru FH's nephew. He has connections in the industry. If I don't use this one, I would have to pay $1,000 more for almost the same band, but one that would be flush. Over a lifetime, $1,000 is not that much, but I'd rather not have to pay it.

Thanks ladies!!
