When to bustle?
I have a chapel length gown but it's sort of significantly major (see my album for pics) ... When should I bustle it?My church ceremony is at 1pm.
Cocktail hour at 6pm.
Dinner at 7pm.
THANKS!

Re: When to bustle?
I bustled as soon as we were done with pictures and right before our first dance!

just about---we did my bustle right before the intros for the reception---and the first dance happened right after we were intro'd.

Re: When to bustle?
I only bustled it before ch. I kept it down for the ceremony and for the photos we took before and after it. Then, once the photos were done and we got into the bridal party suite at the rh i bustled it for the rest of the night.

Re: When to bustle?
Your dress is so big I would definitely bustle it after pics and before your first dance so you don't trip on it!!!

Re: When to bustle?
i wanted to bustle it RIGHT after the ceremony. But they wanted it for pictures so i left it unbustled. It wasnt that easy at first bc i had to hold my train and my cathedral veil while walking around lol...but in the middle of taking pictures i bustled it.I also had wanted to bustle it right after the ceremony bc after i walked out of the church i looked at the bottom of my dress and saw how black the bottom was and even on the train had a big black stain so i freaked, but then soon after i realized i just had to get over that fact lol
after the ceremony just ask your photographer if they want your dress unbustled for pics, if so then just bustle it right after pics

Black stain??? I think I would have died ... how did you not get upset about your train getting so dirty?! That really stresses me as our dresses are similar.

That happened to my sister, her dress was so dirty by the time she left the church that she just didn't care anymore and wasn't going to get upset over it.

honestly, your dress WILL get dirty, theres no way that train is going to drag across the floor in the church, then outside, it gets dirty. Just dont let it stress you out and dont get upset from the beginning...i did that when i walked out of the church and saw how dirty the bottom of my dress was but then after you get over it quickly. Theres nothing you can really do to prevent it, you have the bottom of your dress just dragging across the floor and its white lol so i figured this is just something brides have to deal with it.

same here! by that time the bottom was already so dirty from traipsing around in the grass for photos....I wanted it bustled and out of the way!
