i'm back ladies!!!!

so have the boards been quiet without me? did ya miss me?? huh? Huh? lol. it sure is nice to be back i must say.

weather was so hot in Myrtle Beach (hitting mid 90's and humid), the wedding was cool (definitely different than a NY wedding even though they tried to make it like one), I got bit 3 or 4 times by a spider (up here right before i left) so i couldn't even walk while down there and had to even wear flip flops (to a formal wedding!!).

I did happen to buy an awesome antique birdcage as my cardholder for the wedding (so excited).

And looked at 3 places today!! JT, Westbury Manor & leonard's of Great Neck! Whew what a busy girl i've been!

so how have you'll been??

Yay! You're back! Nothing too crazy has gone on. One kinda drama filled post, but we're over it. How were the halls? How was vacation? I'm sooo jealoussss. haha. Missed youuuu <3

so the wedding down there was at a really fancy schmancy hotel (very pretty!). We walk down the stairs and go to cocktail hour. No seats/chairs but little tables are set up sparadically. I have to say there was NOT a lot of food for the CH but I was content with it. People were definitely b*tching about it though....fried catfish fingers, chicken fingers, frozen crab, etc, etc. I did like what I picked so I have no complaints.

So now it's time to go into the reception so we do and we get served salad. No more than 5 minutes into it, it gets taken away from all of us. Ok now comes dinner (i ordered a prime rib and let's say for instance it was 10ozs, there was only about 4-5 oz of actual meat...the rest was all fat!!!!) So as we're eating we get told that Vienese Hour is set up outside and to go eat!! But I'm still eating my dinner!!!! And a good hour after eating my dinner was the good ole cake cutting!

weird. Everything is just out of order. We're used to eating, dancing, eating, dancing. They just eat, eat, eat and then have some dancing. Plus, people showed up in hawaiian shirts and shorts and people had jeans on! Plus people had responded NO and wound up showing up!!! weird!!

so that is my experience with my southern wedding. :D

of the 3 think i'm leaning more towards JT. There's something about each one that seems off with me though.

JT will put me in the OAK Room and i'm not to fond of it (maybe b/c there's no windows???). However I really like the place!

WM has absolutely beautiful grounds and I even love the indoor CH room BUT the reception room is just not me and they will NOT budge in price.

Leonard's I actually really liked and was completely impressed from the minute I walked in. However, being shown the reception room that was smaller than the CH room, I wasn't too happy.

Guys I am very picky I guess I should say. When I 'love' something everyone knows I do b/c i don't even think twice about it! I hate being like this!!!

I know what you were talking about. My cousin lives in Georgia. His wedding several years back consisted of cold cut platters and sandwiches in the church basement. My Aunt and Uncle were originally from NY but my cousins in-laws were throwing the wedding. would you believe had to even fight the In-Laws to order the cold cut platters? They felt the sandwiches were enough. Now, I'm not talking about people that are struggling here. Both famililes are very well off....this is just how things are done where they're from.
