Xpost - Need dress preservation advice

OKAY.

I better get off my tush & get this done asap

So to my ladies that already had their wedding. What did you do after the wedding with you dress.

You get it drycleaned at a regular dry cleaning place. how did you preserve it. You have to send it somewhere? how much would something like that cost.

As you can see I didn't do research on this yet, & I really should get my dress cleaned & preserved asap.

TIA

I had my gown cleaned and preserved at Meurice's Cleaners in Manhasset. It was about $550.

They have two locations in the city as well.

I didn't open the box actually but I looked at the dress through the window and it looked great.

Yes, they did the museum care preservation for my dress. The guy there went on and on about all the procedures that went into that type of cleaning. I dropped off my dress in October '07 and it was ready to be picked up in January '08. The prices begin from $550. I was initially quoted $650 to clean/preserve my dress but I had a $100 gift certificate from the salon I bought my dress. I know that the price is a little high but considering how much I paid for and how much I ADORED my drress, I couldn't rationalize not getting t his type of cleaning/preservation.
