wedding band
I have almost a solitaire e-ring, with a round stone and just .25 carats of round diamonds on the sides. when looking at bands, the ones I like have diamonds bigger than the side stones on my e-ring. I don't want to wear them on different hands, but I feel like the band takes away from the simple beauty of the e-ring. Does anyone have this problem? What are you doing? Do you think its OK for the band to have more carats than the e-ring? I know its a matter of personal opinion, but I just wanted some imput. TIA

Re: wedding band
you can get whatever you like.....its your wedding band i suggest going to a jeweler to have something especially made if you are concerned about it, they can make you whatever you like

Re: wedding band
I had a hard time with finding a band - eventually had to go with a custom band. I think the band should compliment the e-ring and not overpower it HTH

Re: wedding band
I'd love your jewler's info -- thanks! FH picked out my e-ring himself, and I love it! I'm wary about getting something custom made because I don't really know exactly what I want -- I think I need to see it to know it -- kind of like finding my dress. The e-ring actually came with a matching band. I don't like the band. I don't want to sound snotty or unappreciative, but it looks kind of flimsy. I love, love, love my ering though. FH totally wants me to get what I want, I am just having such a hard time finding what that is! The jeweler he bought it from said we can exhange or return no problem, and even gave me a ring to bring home --can you believe that?!? I have it on now, and I just don't know if its outshining my beautiful e-ring.. The ring he gave me to try is very similar to my e-ring, just with larger stones. I'm sorry I'm rambling. I have a tons of things to do and am actually procrastinating. Writing here is actually helping me sort things out with though, so thanks for the free therapy! Did anyone else have such a hard time picking out a band? I am so terrible -- 3 weeks left and I don't have one, and so many other things!

Re: wedding band
My e-ring is an original, antique made by Fh's great uncle for his grandfather - so yes, it is a man's ring and an odd shape - I went with a thin wedding band that has small diamonds set in a row. SImple. All that matters is that yoiu like your ring..you are the one who has to wear it - I asked several jewelers what they would pair w/ my e-ring and all said something small .

Re: wedding band
This is just my opinion if you have .25 on either side of our solataire then you should not go with a wedding band with stones bigger then those side stones.
I don't know how big your finger is but IMO .25 is a pretty nice size!!
How big is the 'bigger" one?
