MOB dress

Yesterday I went to a shop that I had seen mentioned on LIW still looking for a dress. When I went in, they asked what I was looking for. I said a MOB dress, not too fancy or too expensive. She asked me what I wanted to spend and I said not more than $500-550 and she brought me out one (yes, that does say 1) dress. That was all they had in my price range!! Yikes!

Re: MOB dress

Are you on LI? Try David's Bridal, Macy's and Totally You in Wantagh. I just had 2 daughters get married and one dress I bought at Davids for under $200 and then the second was at Totally You for under $400 (most of their gowns are higher but there are definitely quite a few under $500). Good luck.

Check out my albums for pictures of the gowns.

Re: MOB dress

I looked at Totally You and they were very nice and did have a few dresses that I liked there at a more reasonable price. But knowing me, I have to keep looking and then go back to one of the ones I originally liked! LOL
I had seen a Jovani dress on their website that I really liked and was hoping to see in a shop to try it on, but haven't come across it yet.

Re: MOB dress

Thanks Kathy. It's a shame that they will never be worn again. I should probably try and sell them.

Re: MOB dress

I'm not sure if I told you this before, but if you are willing to come to Brooklyn you can go to Doris Fashions on 68th Street and 18th Ave. I paid $325. for my gown for Peter and Nina's wedding. I couldn't believe it when the saleswomand, Maria, told me the price. I had paid 550. for my gown for my older son's wedding so I was expecting to pay at least 700. for this one with it being 4 years later.
they have dresses in all price ranges there and even bridal gowns, bridesmaids etc. Take a look it is worth the drive. Be sure to ask for Maria and then Josephine to do your alterations.
Liz
