anyone using a planner or day of coordinator? (repost)
as much as i think a planner would help and get me deals on stuff, i feel like we dont need one because we have so much time to plan. but i really think i want a day of coordinator, someone the day of the wedding who will take care of things so i wont be stressed that table 9 is missing a place setting and stuff like that. after looking into it tho, a doc is like, a grand, and a planner is obviously more but they do more work, so i'm not sure. whats everyone else doing? i feel like if between paying a planner and the deals they get we break even, why not?

I have a co-ordinator but only because I am from Scotland and having a destination wedding in NYC! It's great for us as we have never been to NYC before and will help us organise legal stuff. You should contact your venue as I think most of them would have someone who would co-ordinate the reception and keep think running smoothly.

I really wanted to book a planner but the financed would not allow for one. I just caved and booked a DOC. I initially thought that it might be a waste of money too but after seeing what one of my friends DOC's did the day of her wedding I was completely convinced. She packed up everything from her house prior to leaving the church....kept the whole wild bridal party in order, paid all the vendors. I am now really happy with my decision.

My Mom hired a DOC, because she did not want me to stress on the day of the wedding.

I had a planner and I swear by her. We had issues that come up that never would have been something I thought would happen and she took care of them.If nothing else-if the funds are there-I would get a DOC. Becuase you dont know what will happen the day of until it happens. They take care of it all so you dont have to be pulled in any direction to deal with it.

i have a DOC from the morning until the middle of my cocktail hour. my RH provides a bridal attendant which is highly recommended so I'll utilize her for the rest of the time.

LA Productions (Laura) is great. She (and I) were featured on Who's Wedding Is It Anyway on the Style Network
Highly recommend it as there is so much to the day that needs to be address that the bride doesn't need to be bothered with..As they say, you should not only be a bride, but be a guest at your wedding as you want to enjoy it

We aren't using one because our finances don't allow for one. I think it's a good idea though.

I hired a DOC and she was phenomenal (Laura from LA Productions). In all honesty, I really felt that she was more of a luxury than a necessity until this past weekend when I had my friend's wedding. It was so freaking chaotic leading up to the church b/c we were relying on the groomsmen to get certain things done and God knows you can not trust men to do anything important. LOL But it was then that I realized how smooth my day went b/c I had Laura. I would definitely recommend her.
