Got a Crock Pot need help!

ok so i plan on making a pot roast (rump roast) in my crock pot with onion, potatoes, carrots, green beans, corn, and peas - i guess kind of like a stew....how exactly do i make it? do i just throw everything in at the same time? or just the meat first? and how much water? i plan on flavoring the water with some gravy master and maybe flour.....any help out there?

Re: Got a Crock Pot need help!

I don't have my recipe on me but we use a little worchester sauce for flavor, alittle flour to thicken, ton of spices. Sometimes we put a little water in the bottom 1/4 cup. Also r u using cubed beef?

Re: Got a Crock Pot need help!

its not cubed beef, its like a big slab of beef - a rump roast - im assuming its the equivalent of a pot roast i've cooked it in the oven before but ive never used the crockpot before and since i have lots of veggies and potatoes i figured id throw it all in there

Yes, you can throw the meat in along with the potatoes. I would put in enough water to almost cover the meat. But put the water in after you put everything else in. Just let it cook for many hours!!

ok cool.....i'll season the meat first - then put in the meat and water - but ill mix some gravy master and seasoning into the water - maybe some onions and garlic....then after like 2 hours ill throw in potatoes, carrots and veggies? it has to cook like 7 hours right?

Re: Got a Crock Pot need help!

cooking in a crock pot is the easiest thing, you just pretty much put in all the veggies, potatoes, onions, and whatever else you want with the roast...but just make sure you add in water and or some brooth put it on high for like 4-6 hrs then turn it down for another 1-2 hrs and your done
