Warning-FYI for all Honeymooners going to St. Lucia-Pls. Read!!!!
Hello My Fellow Bridezillas,I booked my honeymoon to St. Lucia thru Sandals.com and I was just informed today that my flights thru Air Jamaica were cancelled. Air Jamaica, apparently, just changed their flight routes last week and decided to stop flying to St. Lucia. The worst part about all of this is, that if I had not called today to pay the balance of our honeymoon, and had not asked the reservationist to confirm my flights, I wouldn't have even known about my cancelled flights. We never received a call from Sandals or any correspondence informing us of this cancellation. Luckily I was able to get on another direct flight but I had to pay more money and the reservationist was completely unsympathetic. She basically said Sandals is not responsible for flights booked thru them. To quote her, she said 'Sandals only offers flights as a courtesy. It is not our responsibility what happens with the flight'. I complained to Customer Relations about this issue, and they claimed to be calling all of their guests to inform them of this issue in a soonest check-in date order. Being that my honeymoon is in April, Lord only knows when they would've called me-probably when it was too late to get a direct flight.
Bottom line, if you have your honeymoon already booked thru Sandals and booked your flights with them as well, PLEASE call to confirm your flights!!!! Don't let their lack of communication ruin the most important trip of your life. If you have not booked your honeymoon yet, and plan on going to Sandals, book your flights separately. Even though there is a savings booking it together, you will at least have better communication from the airlines directly with any problems with your flights. Sandals is a beautiful resort to honeymoon at, as I have seen many beautiful pictures and have heard rave reviews from family members & friends on their service. They just dropped the ball on this particular issue and I don’t want my fellow brides to be caught in a bad situation with the most important trip of your life. Good luck with the planning.

thank you so much for sharing! I have heard stories about Air Jamaica doing this many many times -- cancelling flights last minute with no replacements, stopping flights to different cities and many problems with St. Lucia in particular. We were luckily able to find good flights on American and Delta, but I wasn't going to go to St. Lucia if Air Jamaica was my only option.
I'm very glad you were able to work things out. Thank you for warning the rest of us.

Oh, sorry to hear that. Sandals and air jamaica were once owned by the same people (B. Stewart). I think the govt took over Air JA though or have more shares in in now (something like that).Anyway...my point is that's probably why Sandals did not offer the option of booking the flight elsewhere
