NWR: Jewelry Cleaner and Appraiser Help Needed

I recently came into possession of my deceased mothers two engagement rings she got from my father over 35 years ago.

I had brought FH over to meet my mothers sister and her family yesterday and she surprised me by giving them to me (they were mine just were being held in the family safety deposit box). When my mother passed away when I was 10 (over 21 years ago) they were put away until I was to get married.

One is a cocktail diamond engagement ring and the other is a bridal set with about a 2 carat diamond and smaller diamonds. Both are too small for my finger but they're set in 14k white gold.

Considering the age of the piece they are in need of a good cleaning and I would like to get them appraised so that I can get them insured since they have so much sentimental value to me.

Can anyone recommend anyone that I can go to to get them cleaned and appraised- I just don't want to trust any jeweler for this job.

TIA!

Gennaro Jewelers in Bellmore Village.
Its a family friends of mine and DHs and they do all the work right there in front of you-youdont have to leave it there, the ring will never leave your sight-they clean it for you too.

If you go there on the weekend I would go early so that you dont have to wait-they are usually really busy

Yep, and you can trust them, I am very very paranoid when it comes to handing over my rings-I wont to anyone else-not just b/c he is close to the family. I recommend EVERYONE to go there and they all have been 100% happy.

Good Luck

Yes I am also a bit paranoid knowing that these can't be replaced at all .. I would prefer that I see what's being done and all in front of me.. it took me so long to get the rings and all I don't want to lose them- that would seriously break my heart if it happened.
