What made you pick the day/season of your wedding?

FH and I are so torn about when we want to get married. Fall, spring, summer, winter....there's things about all seasons we like! What clinched it for you? TIA

Re: What made you pick the day/season of your wedding?

For me, it was a few reasons. First, I love fall. I love deep, rich colors like reds, oranges and browns. I also love the crisp feeling of fall weather. (omg, i sound so cheesy )

But also, we chose fall because my parents, who are picking up most of the bill, asked that we wait 2 years to get married...so that they had time to save up.

I love Halloween and the fall so when I found out it fell on a Saturday in 2009, I jumped at the chance of having a Halloween wedding!

Re: What made you pick the day/season of your wedding?

I love the summer and could not imagine any other time than that to get married. We are both Warm Weather people, he's Nigerian and my family is Haitian, so we really hate the cold!!!

I chose the day because I knew I could save a lot a money if I did it on a Thursday, but knew i didnt want to to risk my guests leaving early because they had to get up for work the next day.

July 2, 2009 is the day before the federal holiday for 4th of July which is on a Saturday that year. So most people will only have to take off one day for work and have the next day to rest.

I saved soo much money doing that. My RH is giving me an amazing price and I get to have my summer wedding.

I had to move up recital for May for 09 and we won't be going to Nationals that year. Everyone is invited to the wedding instead.

And also being a high school teacher, I wanted to be able to take a full honey moon right after the wedding.

Re: What made you pick the day/season of your wedding?

We wanted mid September (not cold but not too hot. and still has lots of flowers in bloom for nice pics)
The date we wanted was taken though so we booked for Labor Day weekend which is nice b/c it is right around the time we started dating.

Re: What made you pick the day/season of your wedding?

We dont have anything set in stone yet, but I really want fall because of all the beautiful colors of fall that will look fantastic in pictures! I also like that it won't be sweltering but I also won't be freezing my arse off outside. I want an outdoor ceremony, and dont want it to be too hot or cold for everyone. Fall pretty much fits the bill!

i would have loved to get married in the spring but we're trying to keep the cost down. november was a bit cheaper and its still not freezing out yet so we went with that.

Re: What made you pick the day/season of your wedding?

I knew I wanted to get married on the beach hence needing the warm weather. I didn't want it too hot, and the labor day holiday weekend seemed good because then all our OOT guests (ie most of FH's family) still have the next day to travel back home.

Re: What made you pick the day/season of your wedding?

We chose the summer because we both love the summer and the beach!! We also chose it because by that time I will be teaching and I didn't want to get married during the school year because I didn't think that I would feel very relaxed.. And FH is in the FDNY and they get one month off a year, so he will get off July of '09. We plan to have our rehersal dinner on our 7th Anniversary which is July 6th.

Re: What made you pick the day/season of your wedding?

I didnt want summer because I hate humidity and I didnt want winter because all of our events are around christmas (anniversary and b-days) April is perfect because we got engaged on that month. Also the wedding is the week before easter so I am going to be off from school that way we can go to our HM
