Church rant!

So I found out from a LIW bride that the priest who is performing our ceremony was transfered to the cathedral in Rockvilled Centre! Now me being in Pittsburgh most of the year had no idea that this happened, and I am so upset about it as well. I emailed Fr. Andrjez and he told me that St. Rose was supposed to have sent out letters to all the couples who were being married by him (never sent me a letter, my mom saves all my mail) and was kind enough to say that he'll meet with me, and that if it still fits in his schedule he'll come back to St. Rose to marry us!

I'm just so upset that my church didn't sent me a letter or call me! I'm also so worried because Fr. Andrjez allowed me and FH to do our pre-cana in Pittsburgh since it would be hard for us to travel back here to do it, and what if another priest does not accept that!

I'm just kinda stressing out and had to vent...

from what i've been told as long as your pre-cana was approved by your Parish you will not have to redo it.

I'm sorry about your priest... we still don't know who is marrying us because the priest we met with left, and we're not sure if our Parish has it's permanent priest yet. (we're a one priest parish)

I am getting married at St Agnes and found out the the priest who was to be marring us (and is the reason why i am getting married there) may be leaving.. im so upset and dont know what to do either. I have to call

Thanks so much, that makes me feel better... but i'm sorry that you're going through that! I guess I shouldn't freak out too much though, i'm sure everything will work out ok!

awwwwwwwww that suxx! I have been listening to father andrjez when he did our sunday mass. He really is a great speaker. FH remembers him from when he was a little boy.

I hope you can still have him after meeting with him. honestly...we are having a priest who is bilingual spanish...however, i don't need a bilingual because everyone in my fam is fluent in english and some don't even know spanish. He's VERRRRRRRy soft spoken and i feel like i barely known him and he barely knows me...but there is a connection to andrjez and also to montsignor brennan. I am hoping to be able to switch my priest...because i didn't ask for this priest, he just kinda offered. I feel awful...but i would prefer a priest who knows even the slightest bit about me and FH over someone who doesn't know us. I barely see my priest even at sunday mass.

Yeah I'm definately going to do that, I should probably wait until after I talk to Fr. Andrjez though to see if he can still come back to marry us, so I know what to say to them when I talk to them.

I feel so bad that everyone else is going through this too! But I guess that can happen, and you never know when...

That's another thing I'm worried about too... I love Fr. Andrzej! And he would be great doing the ceremony!

ETA: You're getting married in Rockville Centre? Maybe you can have Fr. Andrzej then! You should talk to him.

yeah I'm a St. Agnes Cathedral girl. FH and I feel so bad at the thought of wanting to request another priest...but this is a day we will remember forever and i want someone i feel comfortable with who we can laugh with and who has some insight into who we are. msgr. brennan has sat with me and my RCIA group and I've seen him give his hommily's several sunday mornings and I feel like when he speaks...I get tunnel vision and focus on every word. I love that!

i know in brooklyn you can always request that the priest come back to the parish for you.
