NWR... LI Charities
Since I moved here over a year ago I just got engaged and was consumed w/ the wedding planning, working in the new office, the new house, etc.
Now that the wedding is over I'd love to do some volunteer work. I've done it in NJ when I lived there... for a food bank, Challenger Little League (playing baseball w/ handicapped children) and w/ homeless children at a summer camp.
Anyone know of any charitable organizations in Nassau County needing volunteers to help?

You can get in touch with LI Volunteer Center ( http://www.longislandvolunteercenter.org). They probably have a list of different places.

there are a ton - if you've worked with foodbanks before, the largest food bank on LI is Long Island Cares - DH's mom actually works there. This is a link to their volunteer form page: http://www.licares.org/Volunteer.html
