Top of the Rock NYC

Hi Ladies tomorrow I am taking FH out to a restaurant for his birthday and then I pre- purchsed tickets to take him to view in the city in Manhattan at 'The Top of the Rock' . It's an observation deck in Rockefeller Center. You only get to stay up their for 15 minutes but I thought it would be a nice little b-day surprise. Has anyone ever been there?

Re: Top of the Rock NYC

We went to the Top of the Rock last summer. We were invited to a private dinner there and it was gorgeous. Your FH will definitely be delighted by your surprise. If you have time, go for a drink and maybe some dancing at the Rainbow Room. It's definitely a wonderfun 'New York Experience'. Have a great time. And, of course, bring your camera.

It is a nice experience. Why dont you go on top of the empire state building.? Both are pricey bec tourists will pay anything to see what NYC has to offer.

I have and really loved it- you can stay up there longer than 15 minutes- we were up there for about an hour- they just let people in every 15 minutes. its really a beautiful view and very romantic.

Re: Top of the Rock NYC

I've never been to the Top of the Rock but if you're going to have dinner in the city may I suggest The View at Times Square at the top of the Marriott Hotel. It's a revolving restaurant that gives magnificent 360 views of the city at night. Have fun!

Re: Top of the Rock NYC

My son's 7th grade trip last year was a trip to NYC. They went on a boat ride, wax musem, planet hollywood but his absolute fave was the top of the rock. And for a teen-age boy to express emotion/interest it must've have been very cool.

Have fun.
