Thank you card question

I have just a small few left to write, but how would you write a thank you to a married couple that responded they were both coming and only one did. I want to write the card to the both of them since we got a gift from the husband at the wedding and it was from both of them, but what about the whole part about sharing the day with us when she wasnt there????

Re: Thank you card question

You can say, sorry mary was not able to attend but Bill your presence there made our day even more special. Thank you both for such a wonderful gift.

Re: Thank you card question

You guys are really nice. My cousin's wife didn't come, after RSVP that both would attend, so he is the only one whose name will go on the TY card. I am not even mentioning her name, nor do I even care to see her again. It is totally rude.
But if there was a good reason like the baby got sick suddenly then I would be nice and say she was missed and thank you.

Re: Thank you card question

Oh Michelle you are right, if she just chose not to attend then no card for her, but if she was legitimately absent then I think she should be mentioned. YOu know I know better

Re: Thank you card question

This is a friend my husband works with so I dont want it to seem I am annoyed about the no show. They do have children so I am not holding any grudges towards her. She has always been very kind to me so I dont think it was something she could help. Thanks for your suggestions.

Re: Thank you card question

My cousin and his wife were invited, but she couldn't attend (she told me this) but I didn't want to leave her out of the TY. I addressed the card to both of them, and then said we were sorry she couldn't make it. I then thanked my cousin for coming.

Re: Thank you card question

It all depends. My cousin's wife is just a total bit__. My brother used to date her sister when they were teenagers/20 years old. My brother left the sister for my now SIL over 5 years ago. Well my cousin's wife holds this grudge and has basically forbid my cousin to be near my brother. Total BS. But then just RSVP no instead of costing me $$ and then not showing. So her name will not go on the card.

In your case Cindy I would keep it simple and address it to both of them. Plus you are a nicer person than I am

Re: Thank you card question

Thanks again...I just wrote the card out thanking them both for the gift and saying how sorry I am she couldnt make it. I dont want to leave her out since it is a coworker of my husband. I was a little upset we put the money out for her dinner, but it is not worth it to me to make problems for my husband at work His family on the other hand, well, some of them can hold their breath for a thank you.

Re: Thank you card question

I agree Cindy - it's probably better not to get upset over it, since it's his boss's wife. We had 2 ppl who stiffed us, and I got over it and still sent a TY card for sharing in our day ( i felt like adding 'on our tab no less! LOL)
