Save the Dates
Hi.I am not sure if this was posted before, but I thought people sent out Save the Dates only when they were having a destination wedding or holiday weekend wedding.
I had not planned on sending out any. I am having a random Sat nite wedding in September.
Am I wrong in thinking this?

Re: Save the Dates
I agree with you. I thought that was the point of those cards too, for holiday, out of town guests, etc. I am having a regular wedding and didn't think this was necessary. But after reading a lot of posts on these cards, I'm not sure anymore. I don't think I will be sending any out.

Re: Save the Dates
I'm not having too many out of town guests either. I just though it would be pretty cool to send them out. I'm not sending them out to everyone though. Just the definites. (A-list)

Re: Save the Dates
I think they are for destination weddings and weddings where a lot of people will have to travel and book hotels to come to your wedding. We are doing save the date cards and actually mailing them tomorrow
but its b/c 90% of our guests are from PA and VA and have never been to Long Island before.

Re: Save the Dates
I sent them out and had very few out of towners. I thought it would be a nice way for people to clear time from their calendars for the wedding as well as direct them to our website to see photos, learn about the wedding and generally anticipate the day. I got a lot of compliment on them.

Re: Save the Dates
We're sending them out even though our wedding is in late-October and less than 10 people are out of LI. People's lives are so busy, I didn't want to risk somebody else having something on that day. I thought it was a nice way to get everyone in the wedding mode.Welcome New Vendors
