i'm not sure about getting someone to take your date---but at this point since its so close, maybe you could consider using the facility for something else? i remember seeing an article about a girl whose FH cancelled the wedding--and since she paid so much into it already, she went ahead with the party and did a fundraiser for breast cancer instead.i'm sorry you are going thru this--i figured i'd throw an idea out there for ya!

any wedding website you can find with a message board.theknot.com is the first that comes to mind.

I read about this too. Maybe you should consider using it for a smaller party. If you're going to lose the $$ anyway...

I am so sorry...I feel terrible...if this is too personal, please ignore
but in your earlier post you made it sound like FH and you might still get married at a later date...is this correct?

i did think of having another party there, thats a good idea.. the only thing is i dont really have an special occasion that would call for a party.. but a fundraiser sounds good.

This is the Vanderbilt Mansion on the Dowling College Campus. We had to guarantee only 100 guests... I paid them $6,000 (deposit and advance payments) They were going to keep all of it and that IS what it says in my contract but Ben who is so nice at Lessings got me $2,000 back... The price per plate is $109 (some weddings around this time were going for $130 pp but we were able to talk the price down)
I am talking to Ben today about having a party there for just $4,000 if anyone has any kind of event they would want to hold there... there's a site fee of $1500 that is the other cost and the security deposit of $1,000 which you get back anyway after the reception if you dont mess up the place... Please FM me with anymore questions!!!
