Would you have your wedding the day after Thanksgiving?

I was thinking of having the wedding that Friday after Thanksgiving....if anyone has suggestions or rates please FM me.

Personally, and it's JUST my opinion.... I wouldn't have it the day after Thanksgiving. It's a serious travel holiday... if people are coming from out of town it might be difficult getting there because of the traffic.

On the other hand, however, it's a cute idea... it gives you a lot to be Thankful for every year. :)

why not do it the day before? Sure its a wednesday but prices will be much cheaper plus everyone has thursday AND friday off(in most jobs) and plus the weekend

ohhh very nice idea donna p! I agree that the day after coule be tough. However, if thats the day you want then people we do whatever they have to do to get there! You have to do what you want and not worry about everyone else! Its your day...be a little selfish!

I really don't agree with the wednesday before thanksgiving ... thats too too risky mostly everyone is preparing for thanksgiving day but the friday after thanksgiving is not bad I was considering it myself because I wanted a friday night wedding to save some money and FMIL was complaining that people have work and school the day i chose but the friday after thanksgiving most people have off! however just remember traveling could be bad for people out of town!?

The only thing that I would be worried about is OOT guests. If you dont have alot then its not a bad idea.

I don't think it's a bad idea, I was considering it as well. A friend of mine's brother is getting married that day. If you want it, I would definitely book it! Good Luck!

i wouldnt have it the day after Thanksgiving, your guest wouldnt be more stuffed after all is said n done.

Here's something to remember. Your wedding day is about you and your FH. If that is the day you want those closest to you will make it. If you feel uncomfortable about making people travel on those days, invite those traveling far to spend Thanksgiving dinner with you.

I wouldnt do it... Just because people might be having other plans since most have a long weekend off... Yes, it is about your day & you should do what you want (blah blah blah), but you should also care enough about your fam and friends to try to avoid interrupting their holday plans.

The thought crossed my mind about having my wedding on Fri, July 3rd, 2009 since the 4th of july is observed on that day and people have off... But, I thought about it... I dont want to affect people's long holiday weekend. There are plenty of other days to choose from!!!

with the traveling and shopping goin on it might be a tough day for your guests ....and personally the triptofan makes me sleepy for at least two days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That was the date we picked but, when we went looking for halls the holiday decorations would not have been up yet. So we waited until Jan. of 09.
