Would you have your wedding the day after Thanksgiving?

I was thinking of having the wedding that Friday after Thanksgiving....if anyone has suggestions or rates please FM me.

i prob wouldn't. it might be a great time though b/c of prices.

Thats what I was thinking but, they would probably decorated for Xmas and I don't want to do those colors.

I actually was considering doing that...such a nice tinme of year. I think if you give people enough time to plan ahead, they won't have a problem with the date...good luck!

I would. However be forewarned, I had a friend get married the Saturday after thanksgiving and she ad 12 no-shows that day.

If you don't have a lot of OOT guests, then I think it would be fine. But it is Black Friday, which is it's own holiday in my family!

1) Prices. That's one of the most expensive times for domestic travel.

2) Traffic. Also the most congested.

3) Your friends will want to spend Thanksgiving with their own families; extended family may want to spend the holiday with other relatives who weren't invited. (Ex.: let's say you have a brother and he is married. Bro and SIL may want to go to her parents' for the holiday.)

I agree with this. If you have a lot of OOT guests, it will cost them an arm and leg to come. Other than that, I don't really see a problem with getting married that day. I bet you get a great price!!!

my BFFL did....and his wedding was great. It was not set up for christmas, although the girls wore red anyway (brides fav. color). We had a great time and a lot of his fam was already in town for the holiday so it worked out well for him and they got a great price! he had it at woodbury CC

I would def have done that if I wanted a fall wedding, that is a great time bec people are off on that Friday and they wont have to worry about rushing to the wedding after work, and the prices pp are prob going to be the best prices. Go for it!!!!!!

If you have any guest who work in retail they most likely wont be able to attent. Unfortunatly that day is when jobs are on the line for retail workers if they dont work that day, Somethin to consider.

Clearly

I wanted Christmas decorations without being TOO close to Christmas.

We have virtually NO OOT family.

90+% of our family is off that day anyway.

Our ceremony doesn't start until 5pm. (CH at 8pm).

Contrary to what some people think, there is no price cut for the night after a holiday. In fact, my hall was the same price for Friday AND Saturday - we chose Fri so that we can leave for our HM right away on Sat.

I'm so excited - I couldn't imagine choosing another date! Its perfect for us.
