NWR - Scrapbooking

In lieu of parents albums, I have decided that I want to make both sets of parents scrapbooks of the wedding. (I think) it will save me some $$, and, I wanted to be able to make something more personal for them.

So, last weekend I went to Michaels and spent $89 on some scrapbooking supplies.

In order to practice I have decided to scrapbook some pics from our Vegas trips!

Does anyone scrapbook? Any advice you can give me?? I have no idea what I am doing.

So far, I have purchased those little sticker-like things that are Casino themed, a cute scissor, a book and paper. Anything else I need?

TIA!

Re: NWR - Scrapbooking

I started one for FH that I plan to add to last sept. I was going to do the saem thing, for parents albums, but with what my photographer charges for them it worked out better to fet them through Mark.

Re: NWR - Scrapbooking

I used to scrapbook a whole bunch, but I've been kind of lax lately since I've been super busy. It sounds like you have the basic supplies that you need though. You can always go through magazines and cut out Vegas themed things. I also have a few pair of those scissors that cut wavy lines, or zig zag lines, those are fun to use. I also use hole punchers that come in shapes too, that makes it really easy to cut out small figures. They have all that stuff at Michael's if youre feeling especially crafty. But just have fun and let your creative side take over!

Re: NWR - Scrapbooking

Thanks! It is something I definitely want to get into. I'm not crafty - AT ALL - but, I think this will be fun and relatively easy!

Re: NWR - Scrapbooking

i definately suggest getting a set of the cool scissors that have zig zag or rounded edges. they are a very simple way to spice up any scrap book.

also, differant backgrounds are fun too.

basically, if you walk down the scrapbook aisles you'll get tons of ideas.

i think a really great touch is to include a lot of non photo items. like airplane tickets, matchbooks, stuff like that.
since it's a vegas theme you could put playing cards in it too!

Re: NWR - Scrapbooking

i love to scarobook! i deff recomend getting a paper cutter. the scissors are great but i can`t cut a straight line to save my life so i got a cutter that has the ruler and such right on it to make sure you are perfectly even. i love to get the pop up looking little things too and use glue dots to make your pics pop up too. just gives it a little 3d effect. have fun!!! and you can get anything you could want or need in ac moore and michales.

I love this kind of stuff! I make my own books for FH every Valentines day. If you look through some books on bookmaking you can find some really cute ideas!
