HPV- freaking out

I am 33 and my gyno recommended Gardasil, to prevent the dangerous strains of the HPV virus. I took all of the injections.
Now, I'm over analyzing, over thining, and wondering if it will disrupt my fertility or the health of my future pregnancies/children.
I'm really worried! there has been no literature indicating this, and I don't have any valid reason to belive this, but I am still really worried.
WHat upsets me most is that the drug is new (even though it is FDA approved) and I don't know anyone who has given birth, or conceived, or had a childe after taking the drugs.....which would reassure me.
I'm really upset about this. Is anyone else in this boat?

I haven't taken it but I'm considering it and still have a little time to make the decision, I'm 25. I am not really worried about it. I've read about DES and all the fertility problems it caused back in the 60s and 70s I think. I would think the FDA and doctors are more careful about these implications now because no one wants to be involved in those types of lawsuits. If you're going to TTC, go ahead and good luck to you and your husband!

I'm confused why your doctor recommended the vaccine in the first place, since (1) it's only supposed to be for women up to age 26 and (2) HPV is a sexually transmitted disease, so unless you or your husband already have it, I'm not sure how you would be at risk for contracting it.

However, despite all of that, I think you'll be OK in terms of fertility and the health of future children, since this vaccine is being given to women during their child-bearing years.

I'm think the same thing... it doesn't make sense why your dr. wants to give the vaccine to you.

Please note that HPV does not happen right away. It can take years to develop, so even though you are only with one person now, you can develop HPV from a partner five years ago. Definitely a good idea to prevent HPV from long ago.
