sad i had to cancel my hair trial today (weather report anyone?)

So sad I had to cancel my hair trial today, I was so excited!

But Im traveling from PA which is like a 3+ hr ride and read that the turnpike is still moving 35 mph in most areas. I was going to pick up my sister (a BM) in NJ to come with me for an outside opinion, but she was bringing my nephew with her, and she freaks out driving in anything mildly bad, so I just didnt wanna risk it.



Was this a silly move?

You guys would know better than I would...How are the roads out there? Near Commack especially?

I think this is the safe thing to do. There's plenty of time to schedule another trial, and you (and your BM) don't want to risk being on the roads. I don't know how it looks in LI, but in Westchester the roads near our apartment (that I can see from the window) don't appear to be plowed.

It's horrible. I have to go get a wisdom tooth pulled and FH said there's 3 inches of ice on his truck. My car doors are frozen shut. The LIE by us is shut down. Most roads are barely moving. Smart decision to cancel.

wow, k...sounds like i made a good call! aw, sorry to hear about your wisdom teeth, are you still going to be able to go? if so, hope it goes really smoothly and youre not feeling to bad

Aww thanks. I did go. Not too bad at all. I've been taking pain killers when I feel the pain and they're working really well. And FH is taking good care of me. Plus I'm excited because it wasn't impacted and so I was able to do it with only a local and save $275 on the general!!
