MUST READ FOR ANYONE WITH A STRAPLESS GOWN! **Now edited with pics**
I just added this to my review, but I felt it was SO important, I wanted to post this little tip! This is very helpful especially to those of us who are a little more than average or plus sized. I'm just gonna C&P what I put in my review:'....one of the BEST things that Phyllis did on my gown that I feel like I MUST share. If you are having a strapless gown, ladies you HAVE to ask your seamstress to do this. I was very adamant to her about not wanting to look like a 'stuffed sausage' and have back fat hanging out of my dress. Too often I see girls in gorgeous gowns, and because it's strapless, the seamstress makes the gown SUPER TIIIIGHT, because by the end of the day, the fabric will loosen and your gown can come down. So many tailors will make the gown so tight, cause they know that it will continue to loosen as the day goes on. This causes two things: 1)Suffocation! and 2)Stuffed sausage (aka back fat, chicken wings, etc)
Well this did not happen to be ONCE all day long, and I was dancing up a storm the entire day. This is why:
Phyllis put 4 boning 'tabs' in my dress, 2 in the front and 2 in the back. They were hidden INSIDE the dress and when I put the dress on, I took the thing tab and stuck it inside my long line bra. (One on each boob!) Then we did the same thing in the back, placed it inside the bra, in the back. This kind of made a little hook, from the dress into the bra. If the dress slid down at all, the 'hook' kept it in place and there was NO slippage at all. It was the simplest thing, yet it made the hugest different. I did NOT have to worry about the dress sliding at all, AND she didn't have to make it ridicliously tight either!'
EDITED FOR PICS: Some ladies didn't understand what I was talking about, so i took pics:
Front of my dress..notice there is boning in the front...but boning alone won't prevent slippage:

Inside the front of the dress. Notice the boning tabs, this is what Phyllis created and sewed into the gown:

The tab lifts UP:

Then you insert the tab INSIDE the front of your bra.

and voila! if your dress begins the slip, the 'hook' that was formed when you put the tabs into your bra, takes hold and it can't go down any further!

Re: MUST READ FOR ANYONE WITH A STRAPLESS GOWN!
I guess that doesn't work if you're not wearing a bra though? I've noticed that the longline one I bought gives me that back fat look.
