I started my first DIY i am so excited!! (UPDATED WITH FINAL PRODUCT)

OK so i came across these little paper cards online that are embeded with seeds! i loved the idea! it is different and i thought it would be great since i am having my wedding in May and that is about the time people start planting! so i loked at some prices and said to myself 'i can do this i can make paper' so i tried ......and so far it worked!!!! all i have to do now is try to plant a piece and see if it blooms! if all goes well i will have my favor! I wanted to do something myself to kinda personalize it, let people see it comes from my heart and how happy i am that that can be there! here is the pic form the site. and mine is next to it.. it doesnt look like much now but once i cut it and put the bow and the card ontop with the poem and our date it will look better!

Its not silly at all, you should be excited. I just decided yesterday to do a slipper basket for the guests at my wedding. I even went and bought the basket already. I think I even dreamt about it last night. hahahahahhaa. We're all nuts.

once it completely dries i will add a box and another paper with my name and date and see how it looks. i am going to make the paper colored when i do my won this is just my practice!

I am so upset...........i just told me friend about these cause we were talking about wedding stuff and this is what she said to me............

What do you mean your maikeing your favors?? let me see them.... ( i emailed them) she says are you kidding me??? that is the dumbest thing i have ever seen!!!! why dont you just stop being a cheapskate and buy stuff for people????

so i said...how many times have you been to a wedding and kept the favore or used it??? this is something different and the flowers will come back every year its a gift that keeps giving!!
she said ' no your just cheap your whole wedding has been cheap why even bother having one you are trying to cut so many corners!!!!

yet she has a wedding planner, more money to spend and she hasnt done one thing for her wedding herself! so sue me for wanting to personalize mine! looks like i wont be talking to this friend for a while
****sigh*** sorry for the rant but i am really hurt right now!!!!!

i made the paper myself! i found a few sites online that showed you how to make your own recycled paper and i just added the seeds into the mix. After it dried a bit i took some scrap and planted it in a planter now i just have to wait and see if it grows! I am very proud of this project!

Thats really sad that your friend said that. Some people just dont think. I guess you have to put it into perspective. I think people would love your favor, especially that you DIY. Just do what makes you happy don't worry about anyone elses comments.

its actually pretty easy. it takes time to dry but it was fun and gave me something to do!
