Ladies, I need a new job

I know this should go on the career board, but there isnt much activity there. I am a social worker and I've been working at the same place for 2 years. It seems like everyday that I go to work I am asked of more and more and more. Do this, get that done, 'a deadline is a deadline'. I have been looking for a new job, but I can't find anything out there. I work crazy hours just to get all the work done, BUT, it's still not done. No matter how hard I try! DH gets mad cause I am never home when I say I am gonna be home. We just got married! I want to enjoy this time with him. Anyone know who is hiring in Suffolk???

Oh my goodness!! I just saw the photo of your programs. They came out beautiful! I was thinking of you on your wedding day and hoping everything came out ok.

Hey Krista-
I'm a social worker also looking for a new job. It's slim pickin's out there right now. I'm looking in Nassau, though. We should talk some time to commiserate.........it's always good to network with other social workers also.

definately!! I work in Nassau now, but I live in Suffolk and the commute is HORRIBLE!!! I need something closer to home. Even in eastern nassau.

Ever think of working with an agency? The money is good, you make your own houors, I'm just not sure about benefits - if interested, FM me, I can talk more about agencies... Just need to know what your exeperienece is in though....

It is amazing how fast it flies by. I can't wait to see the video so I can remember / relive the moments.

I was glad to help with your programs. I was nervous because I have never created one for someone else so I was HOPING it would come out ok. They looked beautiful!

There are a lot of social workers in public schools and the hours are great, I would try and apply in all the suffolk county school districts. Sachem school district is Gigantic there has to be job openings there.

My mom works for Sachem and I am a graduate from there. There are no openings right now. They have only one position opening up in Sept. because one of the social workers is retiring. I will apply, but getting a school job is SO hard for social worker (just as bad as it is for teachers). The compeition is fearce.

Actually, its harder - because there is only one social work position... and more teacher positions available....
