Found a Rabbi, went for a trial with Jacqueline Nicole, and took my engagement pics with Imagine Studios today.
Jacqueline was very nice and did a beautiful job on my make-up. I tried the airbrushing, and it covered everything (actually she puts on concealer first and that covers everything, the airbrushing helps it stay i think). She does very nice work. It was definately worth the trip (she lives pretty far out in suffolk). I suggest checking her out. After my make-up was done, we went to meet Lia from Imagine Studios and she took us to the Cutting Fields to take our e-pics. It was so much fun and I just know the pictures will be beautiful. I can hardly wait to get them.
And last but not least (any one who frequents this board knows about my many posts in search for a Rabbi), well- we found a Rabbi! He is exactly what we have been looking for. He is personable, and will do a nice ceremony (although he doesn't come cheap).
Just thought i'd share my day.

Tara- I also had a trial with JN this week. She was great. I tried the airbrushing as well and thought that it covered almost too good- I felt so monotone until she added the blush and eyemakeup etc.... But I loved the results and her prices are great. I booked her to do my makeup and a bunch of the girls.

Re: Found a Rabbi, for tara
TaraAre you using one of the in house rabbi's by any chance?? I am using one of theirs
rabbi ehrlich, very nice
who are you using, I had a problem with rabbi applestone, I think it was, I got his name from perfect wedding planner, when he found out my wedding was at the fox hollow and not chateau briand, he wanted more money!! Even though he is employed by scotto bros, he said fox hollow is considered 'outside' b/c he is in house to chateau
lol
can u believe it, someone from perfect wedding planner actually called him about that then they gave me Rabbi Ehrlichs name

Re: Found a Rabbi, for tara
tammyjill, I had heard bad things about applestone on this board months ago so I never even called him. I thought it best not to use a 'in house rabbi' just the way i am not using any 'in house vendors'. That is just a personal decision I made, and I do have my reasons. I found the most wonderful rabbi who is from a temple in Bethpage. He spent alot of time talking to us, taking notes, and he will personalize the ceremony for us. I felt very comfortable with him. He is also very young- maybe 35 if that. He asked all the right questions and seemed generally interested in doing our wedding.
