MY DIY Pocketfold invitations w/PICS!!!!

I made our invitations for the wedding. I made everything from scratch except the ribbon and the main invitation with the lillies on it. The main invite has the font Avalon on it as well as on the inserts. I used Scriptina for the words direction, accomodation, reception and rsvp. I also used a regular printed font for some things to be read easier. This is where I got the fonts: fonts and templates

This is the invite all closed up. On the back, I did feed the ribbon through two slits so that the ribbon is showing in the back of the invite, and so that it comes out the side of the pocket and ties in the front.

This is the invite when you open it up with all of the inserts in it.

This is with the inserts taken out, you can see the curves I had to cut on each invite. I also had to make the pockt portion of the invite. FH works as a drafter for an architect, but they also have a draft shop, so one of the guys cut the curve that FH designed into a piece of wood. So that I could have the same curve on every single invite. We did this with an exacto knife.

These are the inserts. I found pictures online and did a washout on them, then put text boxes over the picture and had to make sure the direction, accomodation, reception and rsvp words all lined up.

Here is the rsvp envelope

Here is the outer envelope, sorry had to cover some things up, but here is the idea

If you want to know about square invites, I just bought .63 cent stamps and these are square 7.5 x 7.5 invitations.

Re: MY DIY Pocketfold invitations w/PICS!!!!

those are great! very pretty!
I plan on doing my own pocketfolds too, and was wondering what you did with the RSVP envelope?

I've actually been wondering how to go about that for awhile... do you just not include one, or find one the exact same size as the RSVP insert and stick it behind the insert in the pocket or what?

Re: MY DIY Pocketfold invitations w/PICS!!!!

This is what it cost me:

The paper for the pocketfolds I actually got for free. I went to www.neenahpaper.com, found the paper I wanted, and went to the sample section of that color. The samples are FREE!!. They were already cut to the size of 12.5 by 19 inches, so I just had to get them cut down at sir speedy (which my marketing dept at work did for FREE for me). You can buy 4 sets of the samples, and in each sample, there are 10 peices of cover stock. The paper is free, BUT the shipping is 14.07 for each set. So I bought 3 sets of 4, which gave me 120 peices of cover stock. You want the COVER stock, not text stock.

sample paper link
Cost: $42.21

I bought the rsvp envelopes from paperpresentaion. Here is the link: rsvp envelopes
Cost: $31.13

We bought the ink cartridges to do the printing, which was around $50 from Target

The white cardstock was from Staples, I think it was $9

Thr ribbon from AC Moore for .44 each spool. I got 10 pieces of ribbon from each spool. Cost: around $5

I used tacky glue to glue the invite on, and I needed 3 bottles to do the pocketfolds and 100 invites, cost me around $10 with 40% off coupons. Each bottle let me glue on 50 invites.

The invitations and envelopes I bought from RSVPETC invites. They were 35% off, and the woman who helped me was very helpful!!

rsvpetc
Cost: $162.23

Total cost of invites was about $310 give or take. My budget was around $350, so I came in under budget. This was not including stamps
