Winter/holiday love quote...

Hi all-
Well my FH and I have decided on our invitations (yippee! They are so beautiful I can't wait!), and they are long (4'x9'), so we have enough room up top to put a quote. We are having a winter wedding, and want to put a love quote that has something to do with winter, cold, snowflakes, gift giving, or something winter/holiday season related. I was thinking of saying something like 'The greatest gift of all is the gift of love'...does that make sense? Can you think of anything else (better)?

FYI - my invitations have falling snowflakes on them, so for some reason something about how no two snowflakes are alike, just like our love is unique is going thru my head....

Thanks ladies!!

Re: Winter/holiday love quote...

'I've got my love to keep me warm' from the song -- Listen to the song and maybe there are some other good lyrics in there too. Can't remember them all off the top of my head. It's an old standard.

Re: Winter/holiday love quote...

Here's all the words by Irving Berlin

The snow is snowing and the wind is blowing
But I can weather the storm!
What do I care how much it may storm?
For I've got my love to keep me warm
I can't remember a worse December
Just watch those icicles form!
Oh, what do I care if icicles form?
Oh, I've got my love to keep me warm
Off with my overcoat, off with my glove
I need no overcoat, I'm burning with love!
My heart's on fire, the flame grows higher
So I will weather the storm!
What do I care how much it may storm?
Oh, I've got my love to keep me warm
The snow is snowing, the wind is blowing
But I can weather the storm!
What do I care how much it may storm?
Oh, I've got my love to keep me warm
I can't remember a worse December
Just watch those icicles form!
What do I care if icicles form?
Oh-ho-ho, I've got my love to keep me warm
Off with my overcoat, off with my glove
I need no overcoat, I'm burning with love!
My heart's on fire, the flame grows higher
So I will weather the storm!
What do I care how much it may storm?
Oh, I've got my love to keep me warm

I like this whole part
The snow is snowing and the wind is blowing
But I can weather the storm!
What do I care how much it may storm?
For I've got my love to keep me warm

Re: STef28 & Berlykim

Stef-
Now I wish I could hear it! I don't think I've ever heard it before. And while I have your attention - I remember you used VIP studios for your wedding. Did you have an engagement shoot, and if so, what did it include? Thanks!!

Kimberly-
I don't have a pic of my invite because they are being custom made through 'Favorite Things' invitations. They are a vendor on the boards and have been a pleasure to work with. The owner works out of her home and the prices are reasonable considering they are custom made. I'm so psyched. The background is matte silver with darker silver snowflakes that have a 'falling' effect. There is a vellum overlay, and a silver bow on top. And like I said, they are long, which makes them even more unique.

Re: STef28 & Berlykim

Yes, I did use VIP but did not do an engagement shoot. Since I live in NC it was too difficult to arrange another trip up to LI for that. Any other VIP questions I'd be glad to answer. I have some of his brochures at home and I know it had some engagment photo info -- if you like I can check it out -- email me [email protected]

Did you already go visit VIP?

Re: The song

About the song -- there is a version with Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong if you can find it. Sometimes you can find wav files on line to listen to.

Stef28 about VIP?

I also booked VIP for photography, what did you think of your final product? Was John one of your photograpers?
Any advice you have for fellow VIP users?

Did you give him any Most Have SHots?

Thanks for any info.

Re: Stef28 about VIP?

Yes I was very happy with my pictures. John is always the photographer which is really nice because you know who you are dealing with from the beginning. The addition of a second photographer and B&W pictures with no extra charge was a big plus for me because I really wanted B&W and candids.
The two are laid back and not in the way and were very good about reminding me about the few must have shots that I wanted.
I didn't give a large list to him because I knew it would slow me down. It was so hectic and with both mine and my husbands extended families (many steps) it was difficult to take pics of everyone.
If you have any other questions feel free to contact me at [email protected]
Good Luck to everyone!!

I am using VIP too...I was just curious if you had done the engagement shoot, because I'm doing mine in August with John and just wanted to see if you did one. No biggee...thanks anyway.
