Is it a HORRIBLE ide to meet with the DJ 2.5 months before the wedding to finalize some things?

As you probably know, I (like many brides on here) am planning this wedding from a distance.

I have about four more visits to LI before the big day and need to be very strategic when I do what. I was thinking about meeting the DJ shortly after Xmas to go over play/do not play list, special dance songs, etc.

Can you think of any reason why 2.5 months might be ridiculously early? Other than 'you might change your mind'?

To be honest, I havent even met the DJ, I booked him over the phone.

I don't think it is a horrible idea. If you change you mind for any reason, I am sure you can call him with the changes.

Yeah...my dj said he wasn't going to bother me for a few more months because my wedding is a year away. If you have any questions, problems, or song changes I am sure you can contact him via email or phone

I don't think its too early. Your likes and dislikes are not going to drastically change in that time. Then you will have one less thing to worry about. Any good dj should not have a problem with it especially since you are an oot bride.

I dont think there is anything wrong with that ... you will get it out of the way, and if you change your mind - u can always call, email or fax your changes!

i think its fine too......you are definitely not going to change your mind about the 'do not play list' in 2.5 months. If you dont like the Macarena now, you wont in a couple of months.

And as far as thinking of new songs, I am sure it wouldnt be a problem to shoot him an email a few weeks before the weddign with additional songs you thought of. Just ask him in the meeting if that would be cool.

not at all...2.5 months isnt THAT early... what could really change in 2 months? Plus like some of the others said, you can always call him up to make changes...

Oh absolutely meet with him a couple of months in advance, that way you have time to go over the details and if you come up with something different between after meeting with your DJ and the wedding, it will be easier to communicate it to him (he'll have a better idea of what you're looking for).

I would do it...you don't live locally so you have to fit things in when you can. They should understand your situation.

If it's the only time you can make it then I say DO IT but if you can make it closer I'd wait at least 1 more month.
