Finally....figured out Mail Merge for STDs! (with directions for all to use!)

someone e-mailed me directions on how to use mail merge from an excel document into labels in word....for anyone wanting to do this...IT WAS SO EASY!! (after I finally figured it out)

Make your guestlist inside excel and label columns

Title
First Name
Last Name
Address
City
State
Zip Code

Then follow these direction to merge it into Word:

Mail Merge From Excel

1. Open New/Blank Word Document. -- Click on Tools ----Click on Mail Merge

2.Click on Create---Mailing Labels--- Active Window---Go to Get Data

3.Open Data Source ---Find your excel spreadsheet wherever you saved it (Be sure File Types show All Files and not just Word Documents)

4.Open File ---Choose Entire Spreadsheet --- Click Set Up Main Document

5.Label Options Box pops up. Choose 5160--- Click OK

6.Create Labels: Click on Insert Merge Fields (now you have to set up how the label will look) so Select Contact Name (hit enter) ---Select Company Name (hit enter)---Select Address (hit enter) ---Select Address 2 (hit enter)---Select City (type comma and hit space bar)---Select State (hit space bar 3 times)---Select Zip (no spaces)---Select Zip Code ---CLICK OK

7.Click OK Again

8.Click Merge---Select To New Document ---All documents (be sure to select option to remove blank/missing lines from address label) Click Merge

9.Word document opens with your address in view. Send to Printer.
