I kept the same dress.... and if the price of the bustle is costing you THAT much, you should really go somewhere else with your alterations. My alterations including the bustle were $110.

Ooh, Karen! How pretty! That sounds great!
I'll probably stay in mine...but then again, I don't think I'm going to even have a dress with a train so it will be easy....

Nope! You get to wear a wedding dress ONCE (hopefully!) in your life! I'm keeping that bad boy on until it's time to go to bed!!!

I am definetely considering it. I love the idea, and you are so correct. What I will be paying for the bustle by itself would put a nice chunk of change toward a nice party dress.

I didnt. I thought about getting a dress for the ceremony and a different one for the reception, but Im glad I didnt because the day went by so fast. Altogether, including all the fittings and the ten hours I spent in my dress at the wedding, i only spent a total of like twleve hours ever in the dress and I have no reason to wear the dress again.

I'm Chinese too, and I wore 4 different dresses that day (Tea ceremony kwa; White wedding gown; red Mandarin dress/ Cheongsam; burgundy cocktail dress for the last hr of dancing). I had two receptions... one 'American' and a Chinese banquet, so I got two nights worth out of the white weddin gown
