Dumb question: How do hairdos not get messed up when you pull your veil out for the reception?

>

If the majority of veils are on a comb, how do you pull it out of an updo without messing up all the hair?

ETA: Especially when you don't have a tiara?

I would think you would strategically place it.

Sometimes the viel attaches to the tiara so you just take the viel part off.

If it's just a viel with a comb then I would right at the top so that it can slide out easy.

My veil is on a comb and I've played with my hair with the veil and it just slides out without making a mess :)

Re: Dumb question: How do hairdos not get messed up when you pull your veil out for the reception?

My hairdresser suggested having my veil on 'loops' instead of a comb so if I wanted to take it off, I would just pull out the bobby pin holding each loop on.

Re: Dumb question: How do hairdos not get messed up when you pull your veil out for the reception?

My hair dresser placed my veil on my head very tightly among curls, but with one hug from my father during communion, he pulled it out. However, no curls ever came undone, so my MOH placed it back in and then after all photos were done, we removed it, so it wouldn't have to be worried about.

Re: Dumb question: How do hairdos not get messed up when you pull your veil out for the reception?

Mine was a comb and she put some extra bobby pins in to make it stay. It was fine until I got an insane hug after the ceremony and it was almost pulled out of my head so needless to say when it came time to take it off at the reception, it came right out. My bottom curls did fall out a bit after that though so I had to keep pinning them back in.
